ELDERLY HOUSING

There are four elderly housing complexes throughout Susquehanna County. All have apartments that feature a complete kitchen with electric range and refrigerator, Cable TV hook-up, Individual Smoke detection-emergency call system, and Individual apartment security system.

The buildings have furnished lounges with televisions, a community room, elevator, ample parking, maintenance, and an on-site managers office.

Rents are subsidized by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) and Rural Housing Service(RUS) and applicants must meet income guidelines.

TURNPIKE TERRACE APARTMENTS
Turnpike Terrace Apartments, located at 600 Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, PA is a 50 unit housing complex for elderly and disabled residents. There is currently a six to twelve month waiting list. For more information call the office at 570-853-4113.

WILLIAM PENN APARTMENTS
William Penn Apartments is located at 331, Main Street, Forest City. This is a 50 unit housing complex for elderly and disabled residents. For more information call 570-785-5990. There is currently a six to nine month waiting list.

HOWARD J. EMERSON APARTMENTS
Emerson Apartments is a 40 unit complex for elderly and disabled, located at 20 Lackawanna Ave, Hallstead, PA. Emerson Apartments is subsidized by Rural Housing. There is an approximate one year waiting list. For more information call 570-879-4510.

HARFORD VILLAGE APARTMENTS
Harford Village Apartments is a twenty unit, HUD 202 project, for elderly residents. You must be 62 years of age. It is located at 23 School Street, Harford. For more information call 570-434-2836.
